Teams of students from a variety of disciplines across the Louisiana Tech University campus pitched their creative and innovative product or service ideas during last week’s annual TOP DAWG Idea Pitch sponsored by Bulldog Entrepreneurs.

The 2013 edition of the TOP DAWG Idea Pitch featured 16 teams with each delivering five-minute pitches about their ideas to professional judges, who rated their concepts.  The Louisiana Tech student body also took part by visiting each team’s booth and voting for their favorite ideas through awarding “Bulldog Bucks.”

The Bathroom Buggy team won a $200 cash prize for having the highest number of Bulldog Bucks votes.  Other teams participating in the event included BloBrush, Bulldog Valet, Gauge-Away, Heatonics, The Life Catcher, Life Express, Next-Gen Interface, No Hurt- Insert, NTPure, Ox Nanosystems, PathogenRADAR, Plastiques, TetraSystem, “What’s Next?,” and What’s Up Ruston.

The next event for the Idea Pitch teams is the TOP DAWG New Venture Championship scheduled for April.  This TOP DAWG New Venture Championship offers the teams an opportunity to win cash prizes and to move one step closer to making their ideas a reality.  The student teams are mentored by business professionals from the community with Bulldog Entrepreneurs sponsoring helpful business planning seminars in the months leading up to the event.
