College of Business Announces Temporary Application Changes for Graduate Programs

Apr 9, 2020 | Business, Innovation

In response to the ongoing challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Louisiana Tech University’s College of Business announced today that several steps will be taken to accommodate applicants to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Accountancy (MAcc) programs.

Due to the closure of many academic testing sites, the College will temporarily waive the GMAT and/or GRE requirement for MBA and MAcc applications for the Summer and Fall 2020 terms. For those requesting a GMAT/GRE waiver, a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 will be required prior to consideration of the application.

Additionally, Louisiana Tech’s Graduate School will extend the domestic application deadline to May 10 for Summer 2020 and to Aug. 1 for Fall 2020. The amended policy will remain in effect through the Aug. 1 application deadline.

“We recognize the extraordinary personal and professional challenges that the coronavirus pandemic poses,” said Dr. Chris Martin, dean of the College of Business. “We hope to alleviate some of the stress caused by these uncertain times for our prospective students, just as we are actively working to do for our current students. These temporary steps will do just that for our applicants who no longer have access to a testing site.”

During the Summer 2020 quarter, all College of Business courses will remain online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with the expectation that all courses will be delivered in their intended mode during the Fall quarter.

Prospective students with questions should contact Dr. Selwyn Ellis, associate dean of graduate programs and research, at businessgrad@latech.edu or (318) 257-2026.

The College of Business offers a full array of graduate programs that prepare innovative and ethical leaders for success in today’s rapidly changing business environment, including the Traditional MBA, Professional Online MBA, Hybrid MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Accountancy, Doctor of Business Administration, and several graduate certificates.
