Online MBA earns top ranking in state on USNWR Best Online Program list
Louisiana Tech University’s Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA) has been named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 list of Best Online Programs released today.
The online MBA was ranked No. 78 in the nation, up more than 70 spots over the 2021 ranking and the highest ranked program in Louisiana.
“I am proud of the hard work our faculty, staff, and students have put in to accomplish this incredible increase in rankings,” said Dr. Chris Martin, Dean of the College of Business. “While we celebrate the enrollment growth of our graduate programs, I’m particularly proud of the increase in academic achievement of students entering the program and the notable accomplishments of our recent graduates.”
U.S. News ranked MBA programs using five categories: engagement, student excellence, expert opinion, faculty credential and training, and student services and technology. The 2022 rankings assessed 358 online MBA programs.
“Our faculty are among the best in the nation at delivering engaging MBA courses in both face-to-face and online formats, allowing us to reach more students across the nation and world,” Martin said. “The strong placements of our graduates indicate our curriculum prepares innovative and ethical leaders for success in today’s rapidly changing business environment.”
Accredited by AACSB International, Louisiana Tech’s Professional MBA program is designed to provide a solid foundation in all business disciplines while integrating technology and innovation and exploring business issues in a global context. The online delivery method makes learning convenient for those who cannot attend a consistent class schedule and prefer to work at their own pace.
“The recent increase in demand for online programs since early 2020 has reinforced our commitment to offering online academic programs that make the best sense for our students,” said Dr. Les Guice, Tech President. “Our online MBA program has set the standard for programs throughout the state, and we are working to use lessons learned through its implementation to apply to other online programs.”
Additional delivery methods include the Traditional MBA, Hybrid MBA, and Executive MBA. Graduate certificates in business administration and information assurance as well as a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) are also offered as part of the College of Business’ graduate programs.
Applications for the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2022 cohorts are still being accepted. To assist applicants navigating the admissions processes in the midst of the global pandemic, the College of Business has temporarily waived the GMAT requirement for the MBA and MAcc programs for applicants with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2.
