Prominent execs to headline ‘Inside the C-Suite: Women Mean Business’
Louisiana Tech University’s College of Business will host three distinguished alumnae as part of “Inside the C-Suite: Women Mean Business” on Tuesday, April 2, at 4 p.m.
National political consultant Kaye Goolsby, ’73, former Executive Vice President and CFO of Alltel Corp. Sharilyn Gasaway, ’89, and Mortgage Contracting Services, LLC CEO Caroline Reaves, ’83, will join forces to discuss the changing roles of women in business, entrepreneurship, and politics, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing females in leadership roles. This free event will take place in Davis Auditorium (College of Business 101) and is open to the public.
“We are honored to welcome Kaye, Sharilyn, and Caroline back to campus to share their unique perspectives—as both high-level executives and women—with our students,” said Dr. Chris Martin, dean of the College of Business. “They each bring a wealth of knowledge to this event and I’m confident they will inspire our students with their insight and C-level perspective.”
Kaye Goolsby, of Katy, Texas, has held leadership positions in over 100 local, state, and national political campaigns including National Grassroots Chairman for Ted Cruz for President, Texas Grassroots Chairman for Ted Cruz for Senate, Campaign Chairman for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Congressman Michael McCaul, senior leader for the campaigns of Texas Governors Rick Perry and Greg Abbott, and Harris County Chairman for President George W. Bush’s campaign.
Sharilyn Gasaway, of Little Rock, Arkansas, served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Alltel Corp., the Arkansas-based Fortune 500 wireless carrier, from 2006 – 2009. She was part of the executive team that spearheaded Alltel’s transition through the largest private equity buyout in the telecom sector and was an integral part of the successful combination of Alltel and Verizon. Today, she serves on the Boards of Directors for J.B. Hunt, Genesis Energy, LP, and Waddell and Reed Financial, Inc.
With more than 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Caroline Reaves, of Flower Mound, Texas, serves as Chief Executive Officer of Mortgage Contracting Services, LLC (MCS), a nationwide provider of property preservation, inspections, REO property maintenance, property registrations, and additional mortgage services to the financial services industry. She serves on MCS’ Board as well as chair of MBA’s P&P Work Group, a position that she has held for over 20 years.
“Inside the C-Suite” provides a forum for top corporate leaders from some of the nation’s most prominent companies to share their views on topics of societal, academic, and professional importance. The series strives to stimulate insightful conversation on current issues by providing a platform for high-level executives to speak about cutting-edge issues, elaborate on trends, share wisdom, and provide important career inspiration and advice for students. With focuses on the College’s core academic themes of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, this co-curricular program is designed to complement and expand on what students are learning in the classroom.
