Professional MBA earns 2021 U.S. News Best Online Program ranking
Louisiana Tech University’s online bachelor’s degree programs and Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA) have been named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 list of Best Online Programs released this week.
The online MBA was ranked No. 150 on the list of Best Online MBA Programs, while the University’s online bachelor’s programs landed in the top 350 of programs nationwide.
“National recognition such as these from USNWR show our focus on providing unparalleled educational experiences, solving the grand challenges of our time, and creating a 21st Century campus impacts our students in positive ways,” said Dr. Les Guice, Louisiana Tech president. “Online programs open doors to a broader population, while maintaining the same quality educational experience students receive on our campus.”
U.S. News ranked MBA programs using five categories: engagement, student excellence, expert opinion, faculty credential and training, and student services and technology. The 2021 rankings assessed 324 online MBA programs.
“We have seen tremendous growth in our MBA program as the College of Business continues to gain national recognition for quality and return on investment,” said Dr. Chris Martin, dean of the College of Business. “Our faculty are among the nation at preparing and delivering engaging MBA courses in an online format, allowing us to reach more students across the nation and world. The strong placements of our graduates indicate our curriculum prepares innovative and ethical leaders for success in today’s rapidly changing business environment.”
Accredited by AACSB International, Louisiana Tech’s Professional MBA program is designed to provide a solid foundation in all business disciplines while integrating technology and innovation and exploring business issues in a global context. The online delivery method makes learning convenient for those who cannot attend a consistent class schedule and prefer to work at their own pace.
U.S. News looked at four categories when ranking the online bachelor’s programs: engagement, services and technology, faculty credentials and teaching, and expert opinion. According to U.S. News, the vast majority of students enrolled in programs ranked in this category have earned at least some college credit, and are more likely to be working professionals in their 20s to 40s looking to advance their careers. For that reason, U.S. News chose factors that weigh how programs are delivered and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time.
Currently, Louisiana Tech offers the online bachelor’s degree in health informatics and information management.

The College of Business at Louisiana Tech University is temporarily waiving the GMAT and/or GRE requirement for applications to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Accountancy (MAcc) programs for the Summer 2021 quarter for applicants with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2. Classes for the Summer 2021 quarter begin on June 3.
The decision was made to extend the waiver through the Summer to further support prospective students who are navigating admissions and enrollment processes in the midst of the global pandemic in addition to the closure of some academic testing sites.
If you do not meet the minimum 3.2 undergraduate GPA requirement, we encourage you to take the GMAT as soon as possible. You can find more information about testing availability at GMAT.com.
