MBA receives top rankings for return on investment
Louisiana Tech University’s Master of Business Administration continues to be recognized as a top program in the nation. The College of Business was ranked No. 4 on College Consensus’ 2021 list of “Best Value MBA Programs” and No. 6 on their 2021 listing of “Most Affordable MBA Programs.”
“Our MBA program continues to see dramatic enrollment growth, including a 79 percent increase this past Fall,” said Dr. Chris Martin, Dean of the College of Business. “Students from across the world know that our graduate programs provide a relevant and innovative education from a nationally ranked research institution with a high return on investment.”
Tech was included alongside the University of Georgia, University of Florida, University of Alabama, and Auburn. Institutions included in these rankings were selected according to two criteria—return on investment and affordability based on alumni salary data and tuition costs.
According to College Consensus, the publication provides the most accurate and comprehensive ranking of a school’s reputation and quality available by combining the results of all of the most reputable college ranking publishers—like U.S. News & World Report—and thousands of real student reviews.
Louisiana Tech’s Master of Business Administration program offers students five distinct delivery methods that each prepare innovative and ethical leaders for success in today’s rapidly changing business environment.
The Traditional MBA is taught face-to-face on Louisiana Tech’s Ruston campus, and students can elect to specialize in one of five fields of business (finance, information assurance, innovation, marketing, or six sigma).
The Professional MBA is fully online, making learning convenient for those who cannot attend a consistent class schedule and prefer to work at their own pace.
Tech’s Executive MBA curriculum is designed for managers and professionals with leadership responsibilities, and thus relies heavily on integrating each individual’s experience to enhance the overall learning. Structured to provide minimal disruption to busy work schedules and personal lives, students pursuing the Executive MBA meet for classes every other weekend at Tech’s Bossier City, La., Academic Success Center.
The Hybrid MBA is a 24-month, 36-hour program with concentrated coursework in computer information systems and information assurance. All in-person classes also take place at the Academic Success Center.
Graduate certificates in business administration and information assurance as well as a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) are also offered as part of the College of Business’ graduate programs.

GMAT Waiver Extended to Spring 2021
The College of Business at Louisiana Tech University will temporarily waive the GMAT and/or GRE requirement for applications to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Accountancy (MAcc) programs for the Spring 2021 quarter for applicants with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2. The deadline to apply has been extended to Feb. 1. Classes for the Spring 2021 quarter begin on March 10.
The decision was made to extend the waiver through the Spring to further support prospective students who are navigating admissions and enrollment processes in the midst of the global pandemic in addition to the closure of some academic testing sites.
If you do not meet the minimum 3.2 undergraduate GPA requirement, we encourage you to take the GMAT as soon as possible. You can find more information about testing availability at GMAT.com. You may also consider entering Louisiana Tech’s MBA program through the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
