The DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems

Since 1969, The DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems, the longest continually published MIS journal, has had a significant impact on the IS discipline as an outlet for high-quality research. This publication, available through the ACM Digital Library, is the result of the hard work and dedication of many people: prior editors-in-chief that guide the direction of the publication, senior editors who have developed and cultivated high-quality research, reviewers who have taken the time to carefully examine the work of their peers, and authors who have submitted their best manuscripts to expand the body of knowledge. What makes The DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems a valuable outlet for research is that they can forge innovation by publishing unique and distinct types of work.

Dr. Tom Stafford, J.E. Barnes Professor and Eminent Scholar in the CIS Department of Louisiana Tech, serves as editor-in-chief for the publication.

The journal is published by SIGMIS, one of the oldest ACM Special Interest Groups, that has been instrumental in defining and developing the field of management and information systems (MIS). Members include computer professionals, educators, MIS managers, and human resource specialists from a broad range of organizations. The scope of the group’s specialty is the applications of computers in a business environment; techniques and methods for analysis, design testing, maintenance, and management of computer-based business information systems.
