As the needs of the global marketplace evolve at a faster pace than ever before, the demand for analytical, innovative accounting graduates is at its highest. In this competitive and ever-expanding environment, a Louisiana Tech accounting major fully prepares you for a flexible, dynamic accounting career in public accounting, not-for-profit, and governmental organizations, and businesses of any size or sector.
You’ll receive broad-based education rooted in critical thinking, creative problem solving, and professional preparation as well as an in-depth knowledge of how every part of a business functions. Plus, as one of the oldest and most respected accounting programs the state, Tech’s program boasts a supplemental accreditation for accounting from AASCB International. Our graduates continue on to become leaders in the industry, managing top global companies, family businesses, government agencies, and prestigious CPA firms, including the Big Four and regional accounting firms.
One of the most important skills that the COB has equipped me with is the ability to present myself in a professional manner. Part of my job is daily communicating with clients or other employees; therefore, this skill is pivotal. The School of Accountancy has multiple opportunities that allow you to interact with different firms, whether that is at a career fair or through an internship. I was prepared to confidently step into the business world after graduation.
