COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

Global Experience

At the College of Business, we offer opportunities to experience different business cultures and practices across the globe.

Undergraduate Business Students

For undergraduate students, we partner with the IÉSEG School of Management in France to offer an immerse learning exchange program.

LA Tech Student in FranceThis exchange permits bachelor-level College of Business students to spend a term in France and study business at the IÉSEG School of Management—one of the top business schools in France with triple accreditation—at their campus in Lille or Paris. In exchange, students from IÉSEG may spend a quarter in Louisiana to study business at Louisiana Tech. The exchange allows each institution to send bachelor-level students and provide the highest quality international education, for both students and faculty, with a curriculum that includes an experiential learning experience in an overseas environment.

Students may choose to travel for an entire quarter or participate in a short-term summer session. Click here for more information on IÉSEG, their program, application, and fact sheet

Louisiana Tech College of Business students interested in participating should contact Kyle O’Neal at koneal@latech.edu.

Master of Business Administration Students

MBA Students in ChileDuring the Summer Quarter, MBA students have the opportunity to participate in a global consulting immersive experience. Online, in-person/traditional, and concurrent MBA students are invited to participate, connecting Business Bulldogs who may have never otherwise met in person due to distance learning. Past trip locations include Costa Rica and Chile.

Remote work as part of the BUSN540: Professional Business Consulting course begins in June, then students travel in July to finalize consulting projects, meet with company management, and learn about the culture and business environment. Consulting groups of three to four MBA students work with a company within the destination country on a unique project, including but not limited to industry and market analysis, concept plans, risk assessments, financial viability reports, and economic impact studies.

Students interested in learning more should contact Dr. Bill McCumber at mccumber@latech.edu.

University-Wide Study Abroad

While the above opportunities are exclusive to College of Business students, the University offers a wide array of travel programs and exchanges through the Honors College. Students from all five academic colleges are invited to participate; each study abroad destination offers unique course credits based on the faculty members leading the trip.
