Learning Environment

We are proud to offer our students the newest facilities on campus. Our building was completed in 2017 and is equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms, technology labs, and collaborative learning spaces that are accessible to students 24-hours a day.

The College of Business’ facility is modern in every way, from presentation technology in classrooms to the seating layout in its two spacious auditoriums. The building’s design integrates cutting-edge technology to support interactive learning, innovation, and collaboration. Surrounding two atriums are three floors with 15 classrooms, Ray’s Financial Trading Room, six student break out rooms, and four conference rooms, and numerous faculty offices. Additionally, a wide variety of study niches, balconies, and gathering spaces are located throughout the facility.

Experiential Learning

An education is more than just taking notes in a classroom or studying textbooks—and we get that. That is why the College of Business places great importance on integrated facilities, out-of-the-box learning opportunities and curriculum that give our students the chance to thrive in a variety of environments.

From onsite learning opportunities like the Economics Scholars program at the Dallas Federal Reserve and field trips to supply chain manufacturing/distribution facilities like Walmart and Nissan, to hands-on experiences with the Student Managed Investment Fund, the Financial Trading Room and the Bulldog Marketing Consultants program, to competitions like the Top Dog New Venture Championship and Top Pup, students have the chance to continually apply and test their knowledge in settings that are both dimensional and diverse.

Students also have access to some of the most innovative and experiential learning centers on campus. Our Center of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology (CEnIT) supports students from all majors as they create and pitch business plans and innovative product ideas. The Center of Information Assurance, the College’s hub for all things linking cyber to the business world, also serves as our National Center of Research and Academic Excellence. The Center for Economic Research partners with undergraduate economics majors to produce the REAL Report, a quarterly publication designed to provide insight into recent economic developments in Louisiana.

Whichever way you learn best, the College of Business strives to provide a learning experience that is as unique as you are.

Global Experience

Sometimes, the best learning opportunities extend not just out of the classroom or campus, but out of the country. The College of Business is proud to offer students the chance to continue their business studies in France, with the option of an immersive learning experience at the IÉSEG School of Management in Paris—one of the top business schools in France—or at the NEOMA Business School in Reims.

Partnership with Iéseg School of Management

This exchange permits bachelor-level College of Business students to spend a term in France and study business at the IÉSEG School of Management—one of the top business schools in France with triple accreditation—at their campus in Lille or Paris. In exchange, students from IÉSEG may spend a quarter in Louisiana to study business at Louisiana Tech. The exchange allows each institution to send up to two bachelor level students and provide the highest quality international education, for both students and faculty, with a curriculum that includes an experiential learning experience in an overseas environment.

Commerce Louisiana Tech en France

The College of Business currently offers a three-credit hour Louisiana Tech Marketing Study Tour in France. This academic tour to France is offered by the Marketing and Analysis Department and provides an opportunity to study first-hand marketing and business outside the United States—with an emphasis on the E.U. and specifically France. Students gain an appreciation of French culture and business practices by attending lectures by faculty from Louisiana Tech, IESEG School of Management (Paris), NEOMA Business School (Reims) and by French marketing and management executives.

While these opportunities are exclusive to the College of Business, the University offers a wide array of travel programs and exchanges as well.
