New Business mentoring program fosters professional community for alumni and students
Research shows that close relationships with a mentor—whether that be a professor, advisor, classmate, or work supervisor—is linked to academic success during and after college. The College of Business recently decided to make these mentoring relationships formal, connecting alumni and current students through a new program called Louisiana Tech Business Connect.

Julie Vandenberg has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board intended to encourage outstanding accounting students to pursue careers in audit. An accounting major, Vandenberg was one of only 253 students selected to receive the scholarship

Lauren Killebrew has been named the inaugural recipient of Louisiana Tech’s Chartered Financial Analyst Society Annual Award of Finance. Awarded by the CFA Society of Mississippi, Killebrew received the honor for her outstanding academic achievements and interest in pursuing the CFA charter, widely considered the investment profession’s most rigorous credentialing program.

The report also examines the economic impact of Louisiana Tech’s newest residence facilities as well as the impact of one Tech student on the local economy.
