Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards will deliver the 15th annual William Ardis Marbury, Jr. and Virginia Lomax Marbury Lecture Series on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Sponsored by the Mr. and Mrs. Lue C. Napper Family and hosted by the College of Business, the lecture will be virtual and is open to the public.

College of Business Kicks Off Annual Inside the C-Suite Series with “Opportunities Captured”
Matt Herlevic, ’91, will deliver “Opportunities Captured,” the year’s first Inside the C-Suite lecture, on Sept. 17. Herlevic, who graduated with a B.S. in accounting, spent over 25 years as an executive for Walmart and Sam’s Club. His experience includes roles in internal audit, operations, marketing, and management. Today, he is the co-founder for Act II Capital Holdings, a venture capital and private equity firm.
New Business mentoring program fosters professional community for alumni and students
Research shows that close relationships with a mentor—whether that be a professor, advisor, classmate, or work supervisor—is linked to academic success during and after college. The College of Business recently decided to make these mentoring relationships formal, connecting alumni and current students through a new program called Louisiana Tech Business Connect.
College of Business Student Julie Vandenberg Receives Prestigious PCAOB Scholarship
Julie Vandenberg has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board intended to encourage outstanding accounting students to pursue careers in audit. An accounting major, Vandenberg was one of only 253 students selected to receive the scholarship

Finance Grad Receives Inaugural CFA Society Award
Lauren Killebrew has been named the inaugural recipient of Louisiana Tech’s Chartered Financial Analyst Society Annual Award of Finance. Awarded by the CFA Society of Mississippi, Killebrew received the honor for her outstanding academic achievements and interest in pursuing the CFA charter, widely considered the investment profession’s most rigorous credentialing program.
